SDIOWorx, an OS independent SDIO Software Stack
Secure Digital (SD) ( ) is fast becoming a defacto standard in all of the handheld devices including Mobile phones and PDAs,Gaming and Multimedia. It had already garnered 40% of the market in North America and is exponentially growing. This is due to its stamp size mechanical specifications and low-power and adoption by most of the Consumer Electronics majors including Sony, Matsushita/Panasonic, etc., SDIO is an I/O extension capability to the SD memory and storage standards that facilitates the handheld devices to have support for wireless connectivity such as WirelessLAN and Bluetooth, Barcode scanners, camera,GPS,etc.,
As a member of the SDCard Association, embWiSe has developed an OS independent SDIO Software Stack/Bus Driver - SDIOWorx .The SDIOWorx has a hardware abstraction layer, that allows hardware manufacturers to produce INPUT/OUTPUT accessories that will work across several devices from several vendors and would enable manufacturers of handheld devices to interoperate with chipsets, host controllers, and peripherals that are based on the Secure Digital (SD) and Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO) standards. The SDIOWorx technology provides designers with a common development platform, eliminating the need for vendors to write individual drivers for each SDIO device. With a standard driver architecture and APIs, the vendors' devices will be compatible with various other SD devices regardless of the choice of SD host controller or platform architecture.
The initial version of SDIOWorx is supported on LinuxOS platform with more embedded OS support planned for the future.

WiSe-Zeroconf , an embedded Zeroconf stack:
As networked devices become smaller, more portable, and more adhoc, the ability to operate with lesser or no configured infrastructure is increasingly important. In particular features like, the ability of an IP enabled device to automatically allocate IP address for itself when no IP address is present, looking up DNS Resource record data types in the absence of a conventional managed DNS server, are becoming essential.
embWiSe, with its vast experience and expertise on embedded and 802.11x technologies has implemented a Zeroconf stack ( WiSe-Zeroconf ) for the Embedded Devices/Systems, like Printers, Digital Imaging Devices,CE devices, 802.11x WirelessLAN Residential Gateways/Access Devices, etc. The WiSe-Zeroconf is an OS independent ZeroConf standard networking protocols for embedded devices for delivering hassle-free ad-hoc networking, Device /service discovery and IP configuration.
Currently the WiSe-Zeroconf is ported to an embedded Linux and other embedded OS ports are on the anvil
